Teasing the Waitress

“Tis true, ‘tis true. This is a fantastic adventure!

 I’d thought it was to be just Mark and me, but as it is, the cab of his Toyota is crowded with specialists – all functioning simultaneously. To start with, there’s the Navigator, map opened across the steering wheel, as the Chauffeur drives. Then there’s the Barrister, handling difficult legal matters by phone with his clients as we hurtle through the countryside at 80 mph. And the Socialite, conversing intermittently with business associates, family and friends.


And there’s the Philosopher who engages me in profundities, and the Historian who trades factual tidbits with me.


And finally, there’s the Firstborn, who more and more represents one of the bookends of the NFO.

All these are fascinating individuals, but having them ALL at once sharing space and talk time is a bit overpowering.

Getting some shut eye

Oh, and did I forget the Photographer/Scribe, who have teamed up to produce this blog site?

And of course, the Mother is omnipresent, even to the point of prompting Mark to get my pant leg out of my stocking, as she has been doing for years.
